Connection option disappears when trying to edit any of its fields

Hello, i noticed a bug. The connection options section (activated in using an arrow to connect to a node) disappears whenever I try to edit any of its fields, for example line size.

To clarify, you have a connection in the mind map. You select it and want to change something in the Style sidebar (like the line width), but when you change the line width, the connection is no longer selected and the connection panel in Styles is gone?

There is no connection selection, afaik. I have to select the node in which i want the connection to occur (another node goes to that one). So I select that node, open properties, and see a connection section under the "Style" sidebar. If I try to touch anything in that section, the sidebar remains open but that section completely disappear instantly. To make it reappear I have to close sidebar, select the same node and go to Style. The worst fact is that it even seems to edit its values before disappearing, but it doesn't impact the visualization so there must be a problem underneath

Interesting. I will need to take a deeper look into what is going on in that scenario.

My intended use for changing connection styling is to first complete making the connection. When a connection between two nodes has been made, the connection will be selected in the mindmap. At that point, the connection styling information will be visible in the sidebar. You should be able to change anything connection styling information that you want at that point. The connection will remain selected along with the sidebar styling options.

In the scenario that you describe, I think that I will probably just make sure that the connection styling information is not shown so that users don't attempt to change connection styling while the connection is being made (the connection doesn't really exist until it has two connected nodes assigned to it).

When I create a new node, doesn't a connection appears automatically between the two nodes? I can't really select that line, even if clicking it. I can only select nodes. All of this originated from the desire to increase the size of the tip of the arrow when the connection is set to be an arrow

Okay, I think understand what you are trying to communicate. Your use of the the term "connection" threw me off as connections in Minder are lines that can be added by the user to connect two nodes that don't have a parent/child relationship in the mind map. What you are referring to is called a link. You are correct in stating that links cannot be selected. Connections can be selected. Both have styling options in the sidebar.

Now that I understand, I will try to replicate the issue on my end. I'm not sure that

Good to know that there's a possibility to connect 2 nodes without a parent/child relationship, I never found how to do it. I'll search better

I have added a new styling feature in the development branch (which will be generally available in Minder 2.0) that adds the ability to adjust the size of the link arrows and the connection arrows.

Additionally, I'm not seeing this issue in the Minder 2.0 code base, so I'm going to mark this issue as fixed for now. When 2.0 becomes available, if you are still seeing this issue on your end, feel free to reopen or just create a new issue, and we will deal with it at that time.
