Submitted story pitch to Grid Magazine because it's a magazine that focuses on sustainability in Philly. https://gridphilly.com/blog-home/category/circular-economy/
Also inspired by this article they posted: https://gridphilly.com/blog-home/2025/09/01/resourcephilly-is-a-gateway-to-the-circular-economy/

Hello!
I'm a volunteer with the nonprofit Code for Philly, a community of volunteers who are passionate about using technology, data, and design to build tools that benefit the people of Philadelphia. We've been working on a project called PHLASK, a website that helps people find free essential resources around the city, like locations for water, food, foraging, and bathrooms (you can check out the site here: https://phlask.me/).
I wanted to reach out to see if Grid Magazine would be interested in covering the release of our tool! We’re eager to spread the word about PHLASK so that more people around the city can benefit from it, become part of the community, and provide input on their unique needs. I also think this would be a perfect time to be sharing stories about mutual aid efforts in Philly, since there’s increasing awareness about the importance of building grassroots community support networks.
If this sounds interesting we have a media kit which answers some questions about the app as well: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Ro8KJzOvWaSwRhNjA3lrbBHchUg4JA2ZXI7myP5k8Po/edit?usp=sharing. I'd also love to schedule a time to chat more if that would be helpful!
Thank you,
Anne Park
