After developing in _deadline_ mode for around two months, there have been multiple (actually quite many) places in the design and implementation of the code that are not well-considered (e.g., Engine's interface, shmqueue polling/notification). Moreover, there are previous issues in the code's architecture, testing, debugging, and documentation that are worth a refresh in the code. The goal of this big refactoring is to facilitate the future development of projects around koala/mRPC.
