PIC Maintainers

This document defines the scope and limits of the Maintainer role for the official PIC repositories.

Maintainer status concerns repository operations only and does not create, transfer, modify, or imply:

  • authorship or co-authorship of the PIC Model,
  • ownership of the PIC Model or the PIC Specification,
  • normative authority over the PIC Model or the PIC Specification,
  • legal, professional, or operational responsibility for the PIC Model.

All such matters are defined exclusively in the PIC Specification (see Appendix B).

Responsibilities

Maintainers MAY:

  • manage repository operations,
  • review contributions,
  • merge changes,
  • coordinate issues and documentation.

Maintainers MAY NOT:

  • alter authorship or attribution,
  • declare or imply canonical status of any document,
  • modify normative authority of the PIC Specification,
  • create obligations, warranties, or liabilities regarding the PIC Model.

Final editorial and normative authority remains with the Specification Steward, as defined in the PIC Specification.

Role Assignment and Changes

Maintainer roles:

  • are assigned and modified solely by the Specification Steward,
  • cannot be self-assigned,
  • cannot be transferred,
  • cannot be granted or altered through pull requests.

Any attempt to imply otherwise through documentation, repository metadata, or project process is invalid.

Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

Maintainer status is voluntary and operational only.

Maintainers:

  • have no obligation to review, respond, merge, or maintain any contribution
  • have no obligation to provide support, updates, or fixes
  • provide no warranty of any kind regarding repository contents
  • assume no personal liability for repository contents or operations

All maintainer actions are performed on behalf of Nitro Agility S.r.l.

Any claims, disputes, or legal actions related to this repository or its contents must be directed to Nitro Agility S.r.l., not to individual maintainers.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, individual maintainers disclaim all personal liability arising from their maintainer activities.
