Commodore 8050 UK6 901467-01

Just asking can the one-rom be used to replace this chip (901467-01). It is shown as a 2k rom. I've tried common adaptor boards. The same as used for the 901888-01 and it does not seem to work.

That's the GCR ROM. It's marked as a 6316 = 2316 in the schematic. One ROM can emulate the 2316. Configure as a 2316 with all the CS lines active low (the schematic shows them all pulled to gnd = always active).

The 901888-01 is one of the main CPU's ROM's and is a 2364. One ROM can do that too. I can't remember if this one's CS line is active low or high.

(You need the 24 pin version, to be clear.)

While I wait for the parts to arrive I looked at the web based installer and the app. I did not see a selection for CS lines low. Would that be the default 2316 setting?

I just wanted to follow up and let you know that the one rom worked fine as a replacement for the 901467-01. It turned out that the GCR rom was not bad but the onerom does work and is still in the 8050. I also used a onerom as a diagnostic rom using your software. It did appear to work fine.

In my 8050 currently I have onerom's replacing the ROMs 901888-01 and 901887-01. Is it possible to combine the 2 8k roms into 1 single one rom?

Assuming you have One ROM 24C, D, E or F, this should work as they are 2364s - One ROM have serve 2 or 3 2364s simultaneously. You need to configure a multi-ROM set. See this config file as an example, which does the same thing for a 1541 drive:

Install One ROM to the first ROM socket and run a wire from pin X1 (the one next to pin 22 on One ROM) to the CS line (pin 20 I think) on the second ROM socket.
