URI Statistics appears as /null

• I have checked the FAQ, and issues and found no answer.

We are trying to apply Pinpoint version 3.0.1 in a production environment with WebFlux and asynchronous logging. We have added the lmaxDisruptor library to pinpoint/lib accordingly. #12993

However, in the URI statistics, the path is showing up as /null.

We have set the following configurations

-Dprofiler.uri.stat.spring.webflux.enable=true
-Dprofiler.uri.stat.spring.webflux.useuserinput=true
and also tried setting
request.exchange().getAttributes().put("pinpoint.metric.uri-template", "/authorize");

but the URI still appears as /null.
How can we resolve this issue?

I'm not sure if this will help identify the cause, but here is the log that appears when searching the API with "/null" and request Url.

It would be great if you can share a minimal test environment which reproduces the issue.

I set up a simple environment(webflux + async logger), but the same issue does not occur..😭

and i have a few questions.
Is UriStatInfo created after the server sends the response?
Could anything during the server's operation cause the Uri to become "/null"?

Also, I have one more problem. When using RouterFunction, the HTTP method is not being collected either.

user input for uri stat is fetched right before DispatcherHandler.handleResult is called.
when user input is not available, default uri (fetched before DispatcherHandler.invokeHandler or DispatcherHandler.handleRequestWith is called) will be used.
Fetched uri is saved when pinpoint trace is closed.

webflux router handler is being collected with pinpoint and there is no other reported bugs on this as far as i know.
does it always happen? or does it seem like some requests are being sampled?

For the past 3 days, except for health check requests, all paths have been recorded as /null, and none of the HTTP methods have been captured.
I thought this might be due to the sampling rate, but even after setting it to 100%, the methods and uri are still not being collected.

oh you meant in uri stat page. i thought you were mentioning spans not collected (e.g., nothing on servermap / scatter chart).
uri stat is not related to sampling.

as far as i know /NULL shown when invalid urls have been requested (e.g., incoming '/asdf' request but there isn't any route handling /asdf).

can you share at least how the router is configured, and where you put request.exchange().getAttributes().put("pinpoint.metric.uri-template", "/authorize"); this line on your code?

again, any reproduceable codes would be very helpful.

if you want to debug on your own, you can set breakpoints on before() and after() functions of *Interceptor.classes related to uri stat configured at SpringWebFluxPlugin. (e.g., AbstractHandlerMethodMappingInterceptor, AbstractUrlHandlerMappingInterceptor, DispatchHandlerInvokeHandlerMethodInterceptor)

We are using Tomcat as the web server with Reactor.

However, looking at the logs, it seems that the NettyProvider is being set.
[com.navercorp.pinpoint.bootstrap.java9.module.ModuleBuilder] providers:{io.grpc.ServerProvider=[io.grpc.netty.NettyServerProvider]

Is this correct?

Also, could this be the cause of it being registered as /null? If this is the cause, how should we configure it?
I switched to Netty and tested, but it still shows as Null.

the data received via @RestController is being collected, but the data handled with routerFunction is not collected.
but in the test environment, both /null and the actual APIs appear together as shown in the picture below.(routerFunction)

this is test project
i have added the spring security configuration. and the /null issue is also reproduced in the test environment. The relevant changes have been applied to the project.

i briefly tested with provided test project and agent version 3.0.4.
there is no /NULL but it seems like user-input config doesn't work because doInBeforeTrace & doInAfterTrace is not being called for some reason. i'll check further on this

The /test path using the controller is being collected properly, but the /auth/api/v2/test path using the router function is being collected as /null. (handled by TestRouterConfig)

is this path also being collected properly in your environment? From the image, it seems that /auth/api/v2/test path was not tested.
