Description
When an editor is recording a "Request Revisions" editorial decision and they start adding or changing content in the email they will send to the author, if they then change the option above from "Revisions will not be subject to a new round of peer reviews" to "Revisions will be subject to a new round of peer reviews" (or vice versa), a different email template gets loaded into the email field and they lose anything they have written. This can be unexpected and frustrating for the editor, who then needs to start again.
A Publishing Services hosted journal is requesting this improvement. She suggested that the email field could be disabled until the editor actively chooses whether the revisions will be subject to another round of review. Or the current editorial decision button that is on the submission "Request Revisions" could be split into 2 buttons - "Revisions Required (additional review)" and "Revisions Required (no additional review)," so that each opens a different email template.
