Support for system software 2.9

In system software version 2.9 (which is just being rolled out in the beta program) on rM2, the extraction on the first run seems to fail somehow when applied to the xochitl: somewhere in the process, PTRACE_PEEKDATA fails with an I/O error; see this issue of rmview and this issue of rM-vnc-server.
Unfortunately I am not able to compile the software myself and therefore couldn’t debug this any further.

Can you provide me with a copy of the 2.9 root filesystem from the tablet, so that I can try to reproduce the issue for debugging?

First and foremost: thanks for the work, this tool has been of great help for my online teaching.
Then: is there any progress on the issue? I am a bit lost in all the threads as they mostly refer to rmview, but I do not use it.
I have found another version of rM2-vnc-server-standalone in other threads, but it gives the same error when I try to launch it on the tablet.
