Enable SWOT HR L2 data in worldview

We've also been talking about displaying SWOT HR L2 data (e.g. River SP, Lake SP) in worldview, with the Worldview team, for a few years now. I don't know if there's been any movement there.
Not sure if by enabling things like ocean wind (vectors?) that would also open up the possibility to also bring in L2 vector data from SWOT (like rivers)?

I need to meet with the POC on these datasets to confirm how they would like to visualize the data, but I would argue that the data provider should be making an L3 product that combines the reach and node collection data across individual granules into a combined vector dataset for the global extent or at least for tiled regions. There are architectural challenges in the bignbit/GIBS system that would make it extremely challenging for us to visualize the L2 data as it exists right now.

The reach and node data should not be combined together, since they are just two different views of the same data. L2_HR_PIXC data are gathered into the nodes, and nodes are grouped into reaches. My understanding is that the node data is more detailed, and more "expert" level than the reach data. So, I think we would either have two different visualizations (one for reaches and one for nodes) or one visualization (just reaches).

I think we propose punting this to the Worldview team to implement EGIS image tile service as an alternative backend provider rather than adding support in bignbit. Nick Tarpinian already did the hard work of getting the dataset in EGIS. I will work with Natalie to get that tracked on their end. 1 story point on this to account for the "admin work"

This also came up in the email thread with others, referencing a request from SWOT PM to have SWOT (riverSP) in Worldview/Eyes on Earth. There will be a meeting in the next week to scope the need and understand what may or may not be needed. I think those meetings can inform the priority for this type of work, and the solution space (e.g. leveraging EGIS service, and/or something else).

GIBS and WV teams are part of these upcoming discussions.
