can I use it woithout openID?

I looked at this for the possibility of net-booting some of the machines on my home network, where I think OpenID seems unnecessary. Is there a way to use it with some simple local authentication (a hardcoded user/pass would be fine)?

I agree with this, especially since my OpenID infrastructure would be hosted on machines that would be netbooted ...
