If the app list contains no open or pinned apps, it displays its default icon. That is misleading. It is neither an active app nor can the icon be interacted with. In addition, it disrupts the clean and minimalistic look when using a transparent dock.
My expectation is that if no app is open or pinned, the app tray should be completely empty (and therefore invisible).
