COSMIC Editor stops saving the currently opened file

At first, COSMIC Editor was saving the file without issues using Ctrl+S,, then it stopped. Even by pressing Save or Save all, nothing happened and from that point I couldn't do anything. The only way to close the app was clicking on Discard changes, but this caused the file to a) not save and b) to disappear completely from the PC (neither in the trash can I could find it.

The directory I was working with is the same directory I have been using without problems since installing POP 24 with COSMIC. The drive is very large and far from being full, and it was not read-only (actually, I could save it initially for a couple of times, than all of a sudden the described issue occurred).

I was able to reproduce the issue a second time: writing just one line of text, saving the file, reopening it and continuing to work for a couple of minutes, then I could not save it anymore and the file was completely gone from the PC, again.

I'm unable to recreate this. Are you running Pop 24.04?

Just to clarify the steps for me, should I be able to recreate it with this procedure?

• Open cosmic-text and start typing
• Save the file into ~
• Close cosmic-edit
• Re-open cosmic-edit and open the test file
• Type some more, then try to save the file again

Yes, I'm running POP 24.04, which I installed from scratch almost as soon as the ISO file came out (and personalized only a little by adding Samba Shares, FCITX5 and QEMU/KVM, no other fiddling).

As I already explained, this issue occurred twice, then I stopped using COSMIC Editor altogether. At any rate, two o three times I wrote a few lines of text and each time I saved the file into a normal directory in the Home partition (on a separate disk, ext4) without any problems. (I don't remember exactly how many times I did this—maybe four or five maximum, I'm not sure—then all of a sudden I couldn't save it even by clicking on Save or Save all in the pop up window that appeared with Ctrl+S. Please note that this pop up window didn't appear previously. At this point, I could close the file only by clicking on Discard changes, but then the file had completely disappeared from the PC. Sorry, more than this I'm unable to tell you.
