Numlock not activated at startup

Description

Numlock is not automatically activated at startup on COSMIC Desktop.

System

• OS: Pop!_OS 24.04 LTS
• COSMIC version: 1.0.14
• Hardware: ASUS Vivobook, NVIDIA RTX 4050

What I tried

• numlockx autostart via ~/.config/autostart/numlockx.desktop
• systemd user service
• /etc/profile.d/numlockx.sh
• ~/.profile and ~/.xprofile
• systemd system service (fails with "Error opening display")
• Writing directly to /sys/class/leds/input2::numlock/brightness and input9::numlock/brightness (works manually but COSMIC resets it after session loads)

Expected behavior

Numlock should stay activated after login.

Actual behavior

Numlock is always off after startup, regardless of method used to enable it.

Have you tried just configuring it in COSMIC Settings > Input > Keyboard?
