Geary asks for account info after setting up GSuite account in Settings

Plus whatever package controls the "Online Accounts" tab in Settings, I don't know which one that is

Issue/Bug Description:
After setting up a GSuite account in the "Online Accounts" tab in the Settings app, Calendars are synced as expected.

But launching Geary, it asks for an account to set up:

I was expecting the GSuite Email account to be set up already.

Steps to reproduce (if you know):

1. On a fresh Pop!_OS install, set up a Google Account via the Settings app
2. Launch Geary

Expected behavior:
Geary starts and shows the inbox for the newly set-up Google account.

I can confirm the behavior you describe does indeed happen. I imagine this is an upstream issue, I will try and confirm that with Ubuntu.

Just quickly looking at the Geary page, I ran across this FAQ, sounds like that may be why it doesn't work right out of the box: https://wiki.gnome.org/Apps/Geary/FAQ#Connecting_to_Gmail

Sounds like they have the goal to make it work out of the box at some point in the future but for now the FAQ should assist in getting setup.

Awesome, thanks for the quick reply! I wasn't sure if this was an issue with Geary itself or with Pop!_OS communicating the login data.

Since there hasn't been any (visible) progress on the bug you linked since 2016, is there a way to alert affected users they need to take extra steps to enable Email when they enter their account info?
