Multiple Instances

I just have a simple question. I use the installed version of nextcloud. To backup my data I want sync the cloud data to an external HD. So i want a second nexcloud installation (portable) on the external HD which I can start when the external HD is connected. Is it possible to run the portable version of nextcloud while the installed instance is running? Is it possible to run multiple portable instances?

I am not linked to this project in any way. However, I would personally prefer to use a proper backup tool like GoodSync, FreeFileSync or Syncthing.
