"Synesthesia" mod for osu!taiko

With every other mode having this (and mania as a setting for some reason), why not include osu!taiko as well? Not sure what would be the devs' sentiment about this so posting for opinions.

initial idea

you make this doable is by adding coloured barlines just like in the editor

Briefly experimented with the idea above but but it felt wayyyy too overwhelming and distracting in gameplay, so I tried indicator circles which feel much better gameplay-wise.

I personally thought of doing it like mania - mania only adds the colour using the mod but the original colour of the lane is still clear, this is very visible with the argon skin that has coloured lanes.

Not sure how FL would be cheesable with this tho? HD would also be fine assuming barlines would fade out with the hits

there's the option of using triangles instead of circles which can be added as a mod customization thing. I think this could work nicely as well.

Those triangles are a bit too small IMO but I like the idea of giving the ability to choose the shape

Also the option to show the indicators on the bottom screams the "don" and "ka" text underneath notes from TnT to me, but in a good way (also if we go with those indicators being able to have them not only on 1 side but on both seems like a nice option)

ooo I like the idea of having them on both, aligns with the initial idea of having barlines without causing too much visual clutter

I'd say the mod could be initially implemented like on above screenshot and if people will prefer different types then it could be expanded later

Kinda off-topic, but this gave me a idea for a barlines mod. Considering barlines are already a gimmick I think it would be a interesting mod.
