Properly attribute changes to upstream authors #106
Description
The changes from #103 copy code from the upstream repository without attributing the code to the original authors. It would be good to at least add a Co-authored-by mention. Pulling in the changes in without attribution does not comply with the Apache license used in upstream or in this repository.

Also note if you used an AI tool to help write this code it probably looked at the upstream repo but that does not invalidate that you should comply to the Apache license.
