unique mandate reference?

Having an order with two or more sepa debit payments,
all gets the same mandate reference.

I expect having unique references.

Eg

• order: X0GTX
• payment id: X0GTX-P-1
• payment id: X0GTX-P-2
• payment id: X0GTX-P-3

all get same Mandate reference: X-PROBE-X0GTX

I'm missing the suffix.

I just got bitten by this. There are banks, such as DKB AG, that reject "duplicate" direct debits that share the same mandate reference (at least if Ustrd is also identical).

I think using separate mandate references might also be in violation of SEPA rules as the mandate reference needs to be communicated with the user before the debit, we'd at least need to be sure of that. Other solution might be marking it as recurring
