Erratic behavior on Facebook chat box

Issues:

1. Need to click lock icon (in chat) twice to activate encryption mode to send text.
   (Single click only creates additional link, but the text is visible without the extension to the receiver).
2. On clicking lock icon (chat) in encryption mode to get to non-encryption mode, the text box showed following problems:
   i) Backspace stopped working in chat box.
   ii) Could replace previously typed text only after selecting (highlight, as in, Select-All) and replacing it with new text (like insert mode in a text editor).
   iii) Could resume normal operation (non-encryption mode) after refreshing the page.

I installed multiple times and still had the same experience.

Confirmed. It eventually works, but is pretty bad at first.

I think the link preview FB uses may be wrecking integration. I have been meaning to blacklist the FB bot on the server side so that it won't try and preview the JS app. I'll give this a try ASAP.

I blocked FB and other bots explicitly. This kills the preview on FB in the chat window, but not in the timeline. This also doesn't fix the odd behavior on the chat window so this is going to take more serious debugging.

Just a suggestion, wouldn't it be nice for someone who frequently uses privly, like in this very case, in IM, to always keep the encryption on ? An option to toggle "Always encrypt messages" would be a boon in UX, in my opinion. This could be worth a discussion.

And yeah it's really terrible down there on FB. Blocking FB bots is a good idea. Would like to see it in next release. It'd be slightly easier to debug this then.

If I start to post my status on Facebook, the following happens if I don't type anything in the status box:

If I start typing it works.

Then if I post the status, there are 2 problems:

• The UI repeats itself. Since we aim to integrate Privly as if it isn't there, I feel there should just be a top right notation saying it's posted using Privly.
• The upper status box remains filled, it should be cleared out for next usage.
