Compatibility with PI 5 4 gb? and possibility to use external midi controller usb without any display

Hello!
First of all I am a big fan of dexed as plug-in, I used it a lot in my compositions.

Now I built a raspberry pi 5 with an hifiberry dac 2 pro and I was looking for a diy project then I found this amazing project.

I would like to understand if the pi 5 is already compatible with this software and I would like to use it with an Akai lpd 8 connected through usb, previously mapped with few parameters.

Hello, welcome to MiniDexed.

Currently the recommended models are Raspberry Pi 3 and Zero 2 W, as I think these give the best price/performance ratio at the moment, and are well tested.

If you already have the Raspberry Pi 5 and don't want to buy another one: There is experimental support for it, but it may overheat or cause other issues, and I really haven't tested it there much. As always, there is absolutely NO WARRANTY whatsoever and whatever you are doing, you are doing on your OWN RISK.

Thank you for the quick response, about the midi mapping with a midi controller is it easy to configure?

Depending on what you would like to map where, I'd say yes. But be aware that MiniDexed is a menu driven instrument and you cannot randomly map parameters to knobs and buttons (yet)?.
