Cookie expiration

This is a small thing, but can the login cookie be set to not expire when the browser closes? Perhaps set it for a month or so?

which browser are you using? for me, when using Chrome, i stay logged in after quitting and reopening.

Oh, interesting. I'm on Chrome. I can't see how that would work, as the cookie expires with the browser session:

I'm pretty sure the editor server needs to set a cookie: { maxAge: XXXXXXX } option here to make the cookie persist.

i bet when chrome restores a browser session it restores the cookies as well. i can add a maxAge to the cookies. or it might be nice to have a 'stay logged in' option, since in workshops the web editor is often used on public computers.

Does this need be done with md5 hashing to protect user information?

the cookie should be hashed already (may be in production only). if it's not that's an issue!
