Problem when saving the ZAP file and ICD Mangement Cluster's Features

Hi,

I'm using ZAP with the latest version v2025.12.02 (58a3d85) and when saving the file sometimes it doesn't really saves the file unless i use the "save file as" option.

Another problem is that in some Clusters the Features change value when opening the file, for example if my .zap file states that the feature map value is "defaultValue": "15", once I open the file and see what are the active features in that cluster, their value is set to 0. Try it yourself with the Features in the cluster ICD Management.

Step to reproduce:

1. create an endpoint and add the ICD Management cluster to it.
2. Change the supported Features and activate all of them.
3. Save the file and check that the .zap file contains in the feature map attribute of cluster ICD Management the "defaultValue": "15".
4. Close zap tool and reopen the .zap file.
5. Check again the value of the supported Features.

In my case the Features are disabled.

Hi Fabio,

The reason for the feature map attribute not updating is because that attribute of ICD cluster is declared as External. See the list of attributes which are external by referring to the "attributeAccessInterfaceAttributes" section in "connectedhomeip/src/app/zap-templates/zcl/zcl.json" . Since these attributes are external they are not being saved. Even if they are saved, those values will not actually be used. Might be a good idea to open a chip repo PR if we need this attribute to not be external. I have verified that the feature map attribute when not external is being saved for eg the on/off cluster. Let me know if you have any other questions.
