Feature: Consider limiting search results to 12 or 24 per page ONLY

Problem being solved

At Stanford, we've been advised to limit search results to 12 or 24 items per page only, due to the fact that slow page loads can be observed with the 48 and 96 options. This is yet another quirk that must be explained to exhibit creators making the Spotlight platform feel unnecessarily complicated.

Are other institutions using the 48 and/or 96 options?

Could we consider removing the 48 and 96 options?

@caaster alternatively, maybe Stanford could work on fixing the slowness. There shouldn't be any reason we can't find the cause of the slowness.

Here's an example of a slow page load: https://exhibits.stanford.edu/bender/catalog?page=2&per_page=96&q=&search_field=search. It takes about 21s when cold. It improves to about 6s when warm.
