What happened?

The login screen continuously triggers a "fingerprint authentication didn't work" error every four seconds. This prevents successful password entry because the error message or re-authentication loop interrupts the typing process, effectively locking the user out.\ if you don't key in your password within that window.

Expected Behavior
The system should only attempt fingerprint authentication when triggered by the user or wait for a deliberate input, rather than looping indefinitely.

Hardware and Install Details

Hardware: Lenovo ThinkPad T450s.

Context: This behavior occurred immediately upon the first boot following a clean install and persists on every subsequent boot.

Enrollment Status: No fingerprints have been registered in the system settings.

Steps to reproduce

Navigate to the login screen.

Wait four seconds.

Observe the system attempting (and failing) fingerprint authentication automatically.
