No version info in the binary file metadata

Hello,
I was trying to write a script that would update smartctl_exporter when I've noticed that there is no version in the metadata.
I know that you can use --version as a launch argument, get the output and parse it, but I think metadata should be the way to go.

I will be using checksums for now, but I wonder if this project can use something similar to widows_exporter build process?

Looks like they are using promu.yml to config promu.
