Using rebar3_auto plugin (to auto-reload code) gives error `Upgrade not supported by this NIF library.`

Using either the command `r3:do(compile).` or the rebar3_auto plugin to auto-compile and reload the core, I get:

```

I'm on MacOS and Erlang 24.3.4 and other than this, the library works perfectly.
