'snug' support option creates unused and overhanging supports

Description of the bug

Snug support option sometimes creates supports on the plate that do not appear to touch the printed object and also supports that are hanging in the air.

Screenshot shows how plate has detached supports and the printed object groove has a support that overhangs in the air.
