Node upload_size limited to 1024

Why is the upload_size limited to 1024, is there a reason for this? I'm looking to override this in my local install but struggling to find a reason why its limited:

I'd have to assume to encourage people to use SFTP as its more reliable (and made for uploading larger files)

It’s because nginx limits uploads to 1024 by default, and you have can change the limit but it isn’t recommended

Nginx doesn't actually come into it. The file is posted directly to wings.

I'm not sure why this limit was chosen. Perhaps because that was the upper limit of free Cloudflare services that people keep putting in front of their wings node.

I don't see any reason we couldn't increase this limit, and in 2025 it seems reasonable to me to that people be able to set it higher.

Yeah it seemed reasonable back in 2015 when the code was written (that was back in the Nodejs nightmare daemon days) — so I think it just kinda got written and forgotten about. We could definitely support much higher values without much risk.
