I was wondering if there was any progress on box64 being implemented in hangover like FEX is in this article? https://asahilinux.org/2025/08/progress-report-6-16/ I’ve been hesitant to test it because box64 isn’t implemented for 64 bit programs yet and the drivers weren’t there but I think an update was just released.

Only the 32 bits part has been done. No work on arm64ec has been done yet.

I wonder if valve would be interested in using it if the performance was better than FEX. I saw they were experimenting with arm64ec

I doubt it. To my knowledge, Valve is financing FEX, I doubt they would change engine after financing a couple of year a project.

Really, even if the benchmarks were better? It would also open them up to use RISC-V potentially in the future.
