Convergence Diagnostics Tracking

If feasible, report diagnostics on convergence, i.e. the number of iterations and final demeaning tolerance.

Consider reporting full convergence traces (might come at the cost of performance, in which case we might not want to do it? Simple print statements in the code might work).
