How to extract parameter values from a battery?

Good Afternoon all,

I want to replicate the charge and discharge and cycle characteristics of a known cell, the Molicel P45B, in PyBaMM. I have their data sheet here.

After tearing down one of the cells I believe I can collect data on electrode thickness, separator thickness, and other similar values. But how should I go about figuring out the other parameters to adjust when setting a new parameter set to run experiments on this cell? Is the best way to adjust different values, run the experiment, check it against the provided data and then course correct from there? Or is there a better way?
