Let's kill some downstream dependencies

We started by forking symposion but maybe we would be better off to eliminate the downstream dependency and copy and paste some models and admin code. We don't really understand pinax and symposion and the underlying project seems fairly moribund. 

Does it block us from moving to 2.0? How much work would it be to take symposion out of INSTALLED_APPS and requirements?
