…do not mention releases >=1.0.1, in particular not 1.0.4.

Yea. The thing is this github.io page was just my simple save of old pychess site https://github.com/pychess/pychess.website after Thomas Ahle was kind enough to let us use pychess.org for the new chess variant server. It was created by Andrew Nagi using nanoc, but I always had issues with ruby packages in the past. As I remember I just moved the generated site code to github.io as it was. Possible we should recreate it using something more modern, possible with Jekyll.
