gltflib vs pygltflib

In going through the readme, I learned about pygltflib which is developed at https://gitlab.com/dodgyville/pygltflib. Apparently this project is a fork, from a time that the original project was not actively developed. But it has been actively developed for a while now... @panxinmiao have you had a look at that other project?

Yes, I also noticed this. But currently, the logic of our "gltf_loader" is based on gltflib, and I think fixing bugs should simpler than switching to pygltflib, 😅

Pypi stats show that this library's last release was over 3 years ago, while pygltflib has had multiple releases this year. It's also much more popular in terms of number of downloads.

That said, whatever works for us ... it's a relatively small codebase, and as long as it scratches our itch 👍

But we should probably roll a new release sometime time soon :)
