That's currently not supported via the rendercanvas backend. You'll have to use the backend's API for that, e.g. Qt or glfw.

i don't know how to access your window data that is under your glfw

You can just import glfw and work with the window handle like you have done.

wh = rendercanvas.glfw.GlfwRenderCanvas._window

I am not against to the idea for adding an abstraction like canvas.set_icon(), though it's not trivial. It's hard to specify what the given image should be. I.e. a numpy array? A path to a PNG? A base64 string, etc? I suspect that getting the image in the format that rendercanvas accepts is about equally much work as using the underlying toolkit to set the image.

Having an abstraction that allows setting the icon independent of the backend is nice, but in cases where an icon matters, one has likely already chosen a specific backend.

So, open for ideas and contributions, but not urgent at all from my end.
