Licensing overview

Different parts of this repository are released under different licenses,
appropriate to the type of content:

  * code/     Python source code             -> BSD-2-Clause  (see code/LICENSE)
  * output/   Computed numerical results     -> CC0-1.0       (see output/LICENSE)
  * figures/  LaTeX figures, plots, tables   -> CC-BY-4.0     (see figures/LICENSE)

Everything else in this repository -- the repository infrastructure such as
the top-level Bash scripts (*.bash), Docker setup (docker/), GitHub Actions
workflows (.github/), the test suite (tests/), configuration/lock files, and
this LICENSE file -- is released under the BSD 2-Clause License, reproduced
below (the same license used for the Python code in code/).

The per-directory LICENSE files take precedence for the content in their
respective directories. Some files carry third-party licensing that neither
of the above covers; see the per-directory LICENSE files for details (e.g.
project logos under figures/).
