How to debug stuck at "Syncing Dependencies"

Hi,

If a project gets stuck at the "Syncing dependencies" stage is there a good way to debug what's going on?

I've sorted our issue now with some trial and error but was wondering if there was a good way to debug this.

The issue we had was down to responses==0.23.2 requiring urllib>=2 but botocore requiring urllib<1.27.

Here is a minimal pyproject.toml to replicate the problem

[build-system]
requires = ["hatchling"]
build-backend = "hatchling.build"

[project]
name = "demo"
requires-python = ">=3.10"
dependencies = ["boto3"]
dynamic = ["version"]

[tool.hatch.version]
path = "demo/__about__.py"

[tool.hatch.envs.default]
dependencies = ["responses"]

If you run hatch env prune && hatch env create it should get stuck.

For others coming via the Google.. use verbose logging:

hatch -v env create
