Call for translation and testing for the upcoming 11.0 release

I do not usually do this, but the current version is the largest release so far, both in terms of code changes and new features, which means there was a lot of room for things to break.

From now, changes to base English translation files and the addition of new features will be kept to a minimum. The focus will be primarily on bug fixing and overall stabilization.

Shortly before the release, any remaining translations will be generated automatically using the gemma3-translator:4b model. The results are good, but not perfect, so manual translations is preferred.

Thank you for mentioning my name; because you did, GitHub sent me a notification about this topic.

Were the translations I sent you in the file "Czkawka pt_BR 02-12-2025.zip" in the request #1388 used in the program?

Or was the translation I made retroactively applied by automatic translations?

Are there any new texts to be translated, or have there been changes to the texts that require me to review the "pt_BR" translation?

I uploaded all your translations to Crowdin and later added/changed some strings and again uploaded this to Crowdin, so info what is translated/not translated is as always available on this site - https://crowdin.com/project/czkawka. I appreciate the compressed file "Czkawka (translations).zip".

I'm missing the "pl" language file because I prefer to interpret automatic translations from "pl" to "pt_BR" language, because they are much more understandable and accurate than automatic translations from "en" to "pt_BR" language, which are much more difficult to understand due to their lower accuracy.

The "pl" language has some similarities with the "pt_BR" language.

I just discovered that you updated the files again #1769, #1738 and #1769.

So, it means that the revisions and improvements I was working on in the files from the February 2nd, 2026 version have been lost.

I can't continue dedicating my little free time to translating a program that is updated every other week, where I always have to revise ALL the entries in each of the three "pt_BR" translation files.

I had completed the "pt_BR" files "czkawka_core.ftl" on February 3rd, 2026, and "czkawka_gui.ftl" on February 4th, 2026. When I went to start reviewing "krokiet.ftl," I saw that you had updated the three "en" language files again. I can't continue translating while you keep updating the translation files. Therefore, I ask that you let me know when I can work on the three "pt_BR" files without the translation files being updated again while I'm translating them.

I wrote that the changes would be kept to a minimum, and I am sticking to that. Most of the changes from the last few days are either unifying three identical records under a single key or translating errors in the core that I had not previously noticed were untranslated.

Most of these changes do not modify existing keys in any way, so older translations from previous days import into Crowdin from the file without any issues, simply ignoring fields that no longer exist.

At the moment, I am waiting for the release of a newer version of gtk4-rs. In the meantime, I plan to test changes related to references, and there may also be some adjustments to the base translation there. However, I am still keeping in mind the need to limit them, mainly to modifying existing translations or renaming keys.

I will only resume translating the three files when you tell me I can. Because I waste a lot of time copying text from older files and pasting it into the newer translation files, in addition to having to check each change in the original text (en).

As I told you before in the conversation #1388, Crowdin is a translation platform with several problems; it doesn't save the changes I make when I click the "Save" button, and it also doesn't use all the translations from the (local) file when I send it to Crowdin. I have experience as a volunteer translator on several translation platforms, for example, Transifex, GitHub, GitLab, Codeberg, LXQt Weblate, DDTP Debian, etc., and none of these platforms lose the translations I make when I click the "Save" button, and none of them refuse to accept translations from a local file.

On Crowdin, I no longer translate anything because I'm not going to fight against a translation platform that has so many problems.

You don't notice Crowdin's problems because your access is as a project administrator. Create an account as a volunteer translator and try translating or modifying the "pl" language texts; that way you'll see what I've been telling you for a long time: Crowdin is not a reliable translation platform.

I'm sending here the files ("czkawka_core_03-02-2026.ftl" and "czkawka_gui_05-02-2026.ftl") that I reviewed and translated up to February 5th, 2026.

Next week I will be able to review the "krokiet.ftl" file to send it to you.

Note: The file "czkawka_gui_05-02-2026.ftl" was missing some quotation marks and the explanation that Czkawka is open source and free, so I am sending the file again with the improvements and corrections in the file "czkawka_gui_12-02-2026.ftl".
