[Solved thx to multiple answers] Updating the MSVC 2019 compilation guide ?

Everything is in the title. I'm talking about https://github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorrent/wiki/Compilation:-Windows-(MSVC-2019,-64-bit,-static-linkage)

With the use of QT6 and libtorrent 2.0, some things have changed, and I can't build a version anymore.

AFAIk, for the libtorrent 2.0 version, the only tweak I need is to change git clone https://github.com/arvidn/libtorrent.git by git clone --recurse-submodules https://github.com/arvidn/libtorrent.git so the 3 submodules are downloaded and the build is fine (I didn't use the "git checkout RC_1_2" command off course).

But the QT6 part seems too tricky for me.

In the Qbittorent cmake file, I turn the QT6 option from OFF to ON. Ok. But at some point in the compilation, it stops during the checking with the error : Failed to find Qt component "LinguistTools".

Afaikthis is because LinguisTools doesn't exist in QT6 anymore ?

I added some QT stuff during the install of base dependencies (qtbase:x64-windows-static qtsvg:x64-windows-static qttools:x64-windows-static), but it doesn't help.

It's maybe easy to fix, I don't know, but I'm kind of stuck right now. Any help would be appreciated :)

I believe you may have to pass -DQT6=ON (for this section)

Sorry for the answer delay, busy week...

So, for base dependencies, I tried the original line from the page, and then this :

.\vcpkg install boost-circular-buffer:x64-windows-static openssl:x64-windows-static qt5-base:x64-windows-static qt5-svg:x64-windows-static qt5-tools:x64-windows-static qt5-winextras:x64-windows-static qtbase:x64-windows-static qtsvg:x64-windows-static qttools:x64-windows-static qt:x64-windows-static

And for the qbt build, this, since I build libttorent like in option 2 :

cmake -G "Ninja" -B build -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=Release -DCMAKE_TOOLCHAIN_FILE="C:\MSVC2019\vcpkg\scripts\buildsystems\vcpkg.cmake" -DVCPKG_TARGET_TRIPLET="x64-windows-static" -DMSVC_RUNTIME_DYNAMIC=OFF -DLibtorrentRasterbar_DIR=C:\MSVC2019\buildlib\libtorrent-install-dir\lib\cmake\LibtorrentRasterbar

But it's failed. I'll try with DQT6=on this weekend and see if it helps.

You don't need thr Qt5 parts if building with Qt6

Try below:

.\vcpkg install boost-circular-buffer:x64-windows-static openssl:x64-windows-static qtbase:x64-windows-static qtsvg:x64-windows-static qttools:x64-windows-static qttranslations:x64-windows-static"

Progress with that (-dqt6=on + the proper base dependencies), the configure line for QBT is working without error.

But the build crash with

I'll try to find what's wrong with that.
