With the help of AI and the best torrent programmers, we’ve come to the conclusion that V1 is better than V2. But the heavy train of V2 development can’t be stopped by logic. They understand this, but they continue developing V2 anyway. Without explaining anything to anyone. Maybe I can understand them. It’s something they love to do. Even if it’s not the right thing to do. In any case, as of today, with the help of AI, anyone can apply all the improvements to V1 and get a super torrent library. Which is lightning fast! |

There's a plan to have qBit v5.3+ use libtorrent v2.1+ as default and eventually discontinue (drop) support for older libtorrent: Previously someone else also suggested it, but no evidence it's good for everyone: So I wonder if someone is already planning to thoroughly test things and if there's issues, then publicly provide unofficial qBittorrent with libtorrent v1 support? |

Hi all
I'm using the LibTorrent 1.2 version of qBittorrent 5.0.5.
I note that even-now, the latest 5.1.2 release still-offers both LibTorrent 1.2 and 2.0 builds separately, which would suggest there may still be outstanding-issues with the 2.0 version, otherwise the project would have moved-over to only supporting just 2.0 (like how Qt5 was dropped after the 4.6.7 release).
So, I was wondering: what outstanding issues are there still with the LibTorrent 2.0 version, and what benefits does it actually offer over 1.2? For example, are there certain torrents, 🧲 or trackers that I may not be able to connect-with by using the 1.2 version? 🤔
Thanks
