JAB Code to increase data capacity?

I haven't looked into it deeply yet, but my first impression of this project is: "This is amazing! Can we add colors to the QR code to boost data transmission capacity?" There's a project called https://github.com/jabcode/jabcode that brings this extra color dimension to QR codes. I'm not certain if this is practical, and there may be other options, but I just wanted to share this idea!
