v2 throws an error if app-version is set

Looks like the input parsing isn't expecting the app-version to be set. I also didn't set it with full semantic format, I only did 2.0 instead of 2.0.0, so maybe there's a parsing issue there and the error message is wrong. I'll be looking at the code soon to see if I can come up with a fix and send a PR.
