Question from a fellow victim of ZKTeco's SHIT sdk!

Hi, first of all I agree with everything you said about the SDK it's a nightmare

I hit an issue with the SDK DB breaking the moment you add the 50 000 th fingerprint to it you get a nice error -13
It seems to be hard limited, So i'm looking for a new solution and this looks like EXACTLY what I need!

BUT 1 big question:
"This library uses SourceAFIS for fingerprint templates and matching instead of ZkTeco's"
Will I be able to use my existing captured templates (huge amount of fingers that where captured manually with great effort)
These obviously use zkfreeko's template, what are my options?

@ecospecifier you can convert your templates back to bitmap, then create a SourceAFIS template from that bitmap

Can one get an image back even from merged templates? My existing templates consist of 3 scans.
Also do I use SourceAfis to do this as I don't see any methods in ZkTeco SDK only to go from image to template.

I have spent so many hours in this dumb document over the past months, I see no way to get an image back from a template, is there an external method to do so? Sdk can go from image to template but not back.

I looked at their C SDK docs and source code, and sadly i didn't find anything that would allow me to download templates from the device's DB
Even more proof that their SDK is a joke, they haven't bothered to add a way for their clients to backup their data

I'm doing some research on this because I have to find a solution. I will post information as I find it here. Thanks a bunch for your input so far.

I have access to all my templates as I have base64 converted them and saved them in a database from day 1.
They are zk v10.0 templates. I have about 17k persons with 3 fingers scanned per person, 3 scans per merged template.

This could be my answer, If I can get to an ANSI template I might be able to do something.
I have messaged ZkTeco EU to ask what lib this is, waiting to hear from them but not holding my breath!

It is not possible to restore fingerprint images from a template.
You need to save fingerprint images along with the templates if you want to generate a different type of template in the future.
You could use the templates that the ZKFinger library created if they were in one of the known formats. But it looks like there is some kind of internal template format.

I am heading in the direction of burning everything we did with ZK teco and just using the scanners and starting over with AFIS templates and also keeping all the images this time.

Busy discussing this with client it's a damn shame but they also not getting back to me with their "mistery" lib that can convert zk10 to ansi.
