[backport v2.14] Fix failed events interface migration in `main`

Original issue body:

#4765 has been reverted in #4868, against release/v0.15.

main has undergone the same migration and is currently in a broken state as far as events recording is concerned, therefore one of the following should happen:

• the migration should be against main as well
• ideally, the root cause for its failure should be found, and a fix be developed for it.

Regression tests monitoring this passing in 0.15.1-beta.4. Events are being produced and captured in UI:
