[BUG]: Failed to write meta-data: Expected DATA response, got: Unrecognized command stage #1568

Description

What happened?

OS (Imager): MacOS 15.7.4
Pi: CM5 on Waveshark Nano Base Board (A) with eMMC (32GB)

I'm trying to use the 2.0.7 integrated Rpiboot/Fastboot support in order to flash my Pi CM5 on Waveshark Nano Base Board (A) for the first time.

I have connected a USB cable from my MacBook (USB-C) to the Waveshark Nano Base Board (A) USB-A port. Then I hold the BOOT button and power the board via USB-C cable. The LED turns red.

When I then have Rpiboot/Fastboot support enabled, it shows the device connected via USB. I then select all options and start flashing. Installing the bootloader seems to work, also flashing proceeds until 100%. However, then I get the error "Failed to write meta-data: Expected DATA response, got: Unrecognized command stage"

Interestingly, when I re-power the board it boots and seems to work. However, it does not connect to WiFi and using an USB->Ethernet adapter connected to the USB-A port it finds the device, but does not allow SSH access. It seems the configuration was not written to the OS.
