Adding an example for aws ec2

Hi,
like to integrate this https://github.com/aws4embeddedlinux/meta-aws-demos/tree/master-next/layers/bsp/meta-rauc-aws-ec2 in meta-rauc-community. What are the requirements or what is missing here? Or should I just create a PR?

Can the meta-rauc-aws-ec2 layer be used stand-alone? Or is it supposed to be used with specific versions of meta-aws-demo?

I would be love to see this used standalone. Otherwise it does not make sense to move it here.
So "what is the minimal requirement then?" I mean without including meta-aws you don't have the script to upload to ec2 or the machine definition...

Recently, we've started to build images in CI:

• https://github.com/rauc/meta-rauc-community/actions/runs/15130688151
• https://github.com/rauc/meta-rauc-community/blob/master/.github/workflows/generate.py
• https://github.com/rauc/meta-rauc-community/blob/master/.github/workflows/meta-rauc-sunxi.yml

The resulting images can be installed and tried out. Note that during build, we can pull in additional layers (e.g. meta-aws in this case).

Could something similar work for you case?

I guess the wic file and grub config must be moved to this layer.

Hi @thomas-roos, thank you very much for your work on meta-rauc-aws-ec2. It is greatly appreciated. It would be fantastic to include it in meta-rauc-community.

At the moment, the requirements for inclusion are quite relaxed. I noticed that your layer currently generates update bundles based on core-image-minimal, which is perfectly fine. However, looking ahead, it might be more convenient and consistent to transition to core-image-base across all machines. Does this make sense for meta-rauc-aws-ec2?
