This license governs the rayobrowse Browser Binary distributed with or for use
with rayobrowse. The repository wrapper, examples, documentation, and
configuration files are licensed separately under the MIT License in
LICENSE.
This is not legal advice. If you are using rayobrowse in a regulated, high-risk, or commercial setting, you are responsible for confirming that your use complies with this license and all applicable laws.
"Binary" means the rayobrowse Browser Binary, including the Chromium-based browser executable, stealth engine, bundled binary components, updates, patches, and related binary artifacts provided by Rayobyte.
"Repository Wrapper" means the source files, examples, documentation, configuration files, and other non-Binary materials in this repository that are licensed under the MIT License.
"Commercial Use" means use by or for a business, organization, revenue generating activity, paid product, paid service, or internal business purpose.
"Restricted Browser Solution" means a product or service that sells, resells, hosts, rents, brokers, or otherwise provides browser automation, browser APIs, browser infrastructure, browser sessions, hosted browsers, anti-detect browsers, stealth browsers, or substantially similar browser capabilities to third parties.
"Restricted Scraping API" means a product or service where third parties call an API, hosted workflow, managed endpoint, or similar interface and receive data back from a web scraping, crawling, extraction, monitoring, or automated web access service.
"Covered Anti-Bot Company" means any company, organization, business unit, product group, platform operator, security vendor, fraud prevention vendor, risk scoring vendor, CAPTCHA provider, fingerprinting provider, WAF provider, bot management provider, scraping detection provider, automation detection provider, abuse prevention provider, or substantially similar entity that develops, sells, licenses, operates, improves, researches, benchmarks, tests, trains, or supports products, services, systems, models, rules, signatures, or datasets used to detect, classify, block, limit, fingerprint, investigate, or interfere with automated browser activity, web scraping, crawling, data collection, browser automation, synthetic traffic, proxy traffic, account automation, fraud, abuse, or suspicious web activity. Covered Anti-Bot Company also includes, without limitation, any affiliate, subsidiary, parent company, successor, acquirer, employee, contractor, agent, consultant, vendor, customer, research partner, or other person acting on behalf of, for the benefit of, or in cooperation with any such entity or any company or service listed in Section 4.
"Anti-Bot Purpose" means any purpose related to detecting, fingerprinting, blocking, rate limiting, classifying, profiling, reverse engineering, benchmarking, researching, analyzing, or otherwise interfering with rayobrowse, Rayobyte, the Binary, or any user, customer, automation workflow, browser session, proxy session, or scraping workflow that uses rayobrowse or Rayobyte services.
Subject to this license, Rayobyte grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the Binary for:
- Personal, educational, research, and hobby projects.
- Internal business automation, QA, monitoring, scraping, AI agent, and data collection workflows.
- Commercial uses that are not Restricted Browser Solutions or Restricted Scraping APIs.
Self-hosted use of the Binary is free and unlimited under this license, as long as your use complies with the restrictions below.
You may not use the Binary, directly or indirectly, for either of the following without a separate written agreement with Rayobyte:
- Selling, reselling, hosting, operating, or providing a Restricted Browser Solution, including a browser API, browser infrastructure platform, hosted browser service, stealth browser service, anti-detect browser service, browser session rental product, or substantially similar offering.
- Selling, reselling, hosting, operating, or providing a Restricted Scraping API, including any web scraping API, crawling API, extraction API, managed scraping service, or similar service where users call an API or hosted workflow and receive scraped, crawled, extracted, monitored, or automated web data in response.
All other Commercial Use is allowed, including using the Binary internally to operate your own business, automate your own workflows, test your own sites, run your own data pipelines, or collect publicly available data for your own organization, subject to this license.

Covered Anti-Bot Companies are expressly prohibited from accessing, downloading, installing, running, testing, evaluating, benchmarking, analyzing, reverse engineering, decompiling, disassembling, modifying, monitoring, probing, or otherwise using the Binary for any purpose.
Covered Anti-Bot Companies are also prohibited from using the Binary, the Repository Wrapper, related documentation, public examples, public issue content, release artifacts, telemetry, screenshots, behavior, network traffic, or any other rayobrowse-related material for any Anti-Bot Purpose, including developing, improving, training, testing, or validating bot detection, fingerprinting, fraud detection, abuse prevention, scraping detection, automation detection, WAF, CAPTCHA, risk scoring, traffic classification, or platform enforcement systems.
These restrictions apply whether the activity is performed directly or indirectly, including through affiliates, subsidiaries, parent companies, successors, acquired entities, employees, contractors, consultants, vendors, customers, research partners, test accounts, personal accounts, shell companies, or any other third party acting on behalf of, for the benefit of, or in cooperation with a Covered Anti-Bot Company.

- ThreatMetrix, including LexisNexis Risk Solutions
- Sift
- Riskified
- Kount, including Equifax

- IPQualityScore, including IPQS
- Netacea
- Fortinet
- Palo Alto Networks
- Check Point

- Amazon Web Services, including AWS WAF
- Microsoft, including Azure WAF, LinkedIn, and Bing

Rayobyte may update this list in later versions of this license. This list is illustrative and non-exhaustive. A company or person is covered if it falls within the definition of Covered Anti-Bot Company, is listed above, is commonly known by a listed name, operates a listed product or service, owns or controls a listed entity, is owned or controlled by a listed entity, succeeds to a listed entity's business, or acts through another person or entity to do something it could not do directly under this license.
Nothing in this section grants any right to the Binary or limits Rayobyte's
right to deny access, block downloads, revoke credentials, terminate accounts,
or pursue any available contractual, equitable, statutory, or other legal
remedy. The Repository Wrapper remains licensed separately under the MIT
License in LICENSE; this section does not grant any Covered Anti-Bot Company
a license to the Binary.
You may not use the Binary for illegal, harmful, abusive, or unethical activity. Prohibited uses include, without limitation:
- Unauthorized access to systems, accounts, data, networks, or services.
- Credential stuffing, credential theft, account takeover, phishing, fraud, spam, malware distribution, botnet activity, or evasion of security controls for abusive purposes.
- Harassment, stalking, doxxing, surveillance, or collection of sensitive
personal information without appropriate rights or consent - Infringing intellectual property rights or violating applicable privacy, data protection, consumer protection, export control, anti-spam, or computer misuse laws.
- Any activity that Rayobyte reasonably determines is unlawful, harmful, abusive, deceptive, exploitative, or inconsistent with ethical web data collection practices.
You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of the Binary complies with applicable laws, website terms, contractual obligations, and ethical data collection standards.
You may not sell, sublicense, redistribute, make available, or provide access to the Binary to third parties except as expressly permitted by Rayobyte in writing.
You may not modify, decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer, extract source code from, defeat license checks in, remove notices from, or create derivative works of the Binary except to the limited extent such restrictions are prohibited by applicable law.
Rayobyte may update, replace, suspend, or discontinue distribution of the Binary at any time. Updates may be subject to this license or a later license published by Rayobyte.
The Binary may include Chromium and other third-party open-source components. Those components remain subject to their own license terms. To the extent there is a conflict between this license and a third-party open-source license for a third-party component, the third-party license controls for that component only.
Your rights under this license terminate automatically if you violate the license. Upon termination, you must stop using the Binary and delete all copies in your possession or control.
THE BINARY IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RAYOBYTE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST REVENUE, LOST DATA, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR COSTS OF SUBSTITUTE SERVICES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE BINARY OR THIS LICENSE.
