Random Login Failed

Hello,

Thanks for your plugins, it's awesome.
I just have issue sometimes, when I start, I have login failed, I need to reboot to fix the issue.
Is it possible to add a retry on login failed ?.

I have already tried to analyze this issue including wireshark to track the actual network traffic. It seems that some requests are not answered by the Zattoo server. I'm not sure if something with the TLS implementation is the issue or if something else is wrong. Doing the same request again did not help but after a restart of Kodi, everything is working.

Unfortunately, I currently do not have a good solution for this yet.

Unfortunately no, the server simply closes the TCP connection without responding to the request. I suspect that something on TLS level goes wrong.

I have the same issue. After toggling the activation button the plugin works perfectly. Maybe a delayed retry for the http request could help. First retry after two seconds, next after four sec. and so on. up to 10 seconds.

@rbuehlma I have made some experiment, I have libreelec (latest) , with Rpi4 .
My solution (actually) is to increase the network timeout on boot, indeed It seems that the PVR boot to much rapidly and the network is not fully setup, causing the failure
Increase the timeout network in libreelec settings to 30sec fix the issue. So far, no more login failed.

Thanks for your feedback. Could to tell us what exactly you have changed? The default timeout already seems to be 30 seconds and forcing it to 30 did not help in my case.

@rbuehlma Sorry for the delay , I have checked again, I have made a mistake, I have set it at 45, but I think it's linked to your network if DHCP is fast or not, so set it at 1 min to see if you have any improvement. but in my case, currently no login failed since more than 50 days.

The networking of the OS is definitely not the issue in my case since my device is running long before Kodi is started. Seems to be something else.

I also have this problem quite often but I don't reboot. I go to my extensions, select the pvr client and select the latest version then confirm. The zattoo client is reactivated.

A little update from me, running Kodi on Freebsd, compiled from ports, compiled the PVR addon from source - upon trying to log-in in Kodi's debug log I'm getting a curl error "Failed: Stream error in the HTTP/2 framing layer".
Curl is compiled to support HTTP/2 and a similar Curl bug was fixed back in 2019.
Since zattoo is using load-balancing, it looks like ending up on some specific endpoint throws the error, ending up on another one doesn't (just a guess of course), so waiting a little bit, disabling / enabling the addon it starts to work.
Looks like that's not an issue with the addon, more the environment around and server-side. Maybe putting a HTTPs proxy between may help.
