Workrave does not decrement time on a server with a x2go connection to a client

Describe the bug
I start workrave on my server system. I connect to this server system using x2go.
Everything works with regard to configuring, gui, etc. But the time does not decrease and stays at the configured value.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:A clear and concise description of what the bug is.

1. Start workrave
2. Configure workrave
3. Notice the time does not decrease.

Expected behavior
I expect the time to decrease while I work on my projects.
