Hello there!

I'm getting the following error message when I try to download an app from the Google Play Store:

Security check is needed, try to visit https://accounts.google.com/b/0/DisplayUnlockCaptcha to unlock, or setup an app-specific password

I tried the following:

• account password without MFA
• account password without MFA and "unsecure" connection enabled (or however that is called)
• app-specific password (with MFA)

@adtimizer I think all APK downloader tools have the same issue In response of google authenticator they send this response

they ask you to activate your account using Browser
It was working before

Hi,

I have the same problem with gplaydl. Tried to use DisplayUnlockCaptcha, tried application password, it did not help.
Tried to use the url from the error message. After signing in with my browser, the process gets stuck on url https://accounts.google.com/o/oauth2/programmatic_auth - progress spinner and a message "One moment please...". No changes on the gplaydl side, next login attempt ends up with the same error message (NeedsBrowser).

Is this a general problem or is it only affecting some users? A change on google auth api side maybe? Any suggestions how to get past this problem?
